Key Milestones
Ban Hin Leong was founded in 1935 in Penang, Malaysia by the late Mr. Lim Peng Kee. What started out as a small tinsmithing enterprise, located in the heart of Georgetown, Ban Hin Leong today is synonymous with the metal and building materials industry.
We are the leading manufacturer of expanded metal, rib lath & hexagonal iron wire netting (or more popularly known as chicken wire netting) in Malaysia. We are also a prominent wholesaler of building materials for products like galvanized iron wire, various types of wire meshes (stainless steel, aluminium, galvanized iron, pvc & fiberglass), shovels, wheelbarrows, galvanized iron sheets etc.
THE BEGINNING
Our founding father started his tinsmithing workshop in a shophouse located at Beach Street, Penang. As an enterprising young man then, he started distributing building materials for the ever growing Penang.
INCORPORATION OF OUR COMPANY
Ban Hin Leong & Co. Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated on 24th December 1955.
MANUFACTURING
Bought two Hexagonal Wire Netting machines from Japan, marked the beginning of Ban Hin Leong’s entry into manufacturing.
EXPANDED METAL
Bought two Expanded Metal machines from Taiwan.
EXPANSION
As Ban Hin Leong continued growing, it finally settled down at its present headquarters in Bukit Tengah.
COMPANY BRANCH
Ban Hin Leong finally made its presence felt in the heart of the Malaysian capital city, Kuala Lumpur, supplying expanded metals and rib laths to the Central and Southern region, with a rented store in Selayang.
PRESENT COMPANY BRANCH
As business continued to grow, Ban Hin Leong moved into its new present premise located in Bukit Naga.
PRESENT DAY
Ban Hin Leong is the leading expanded metal, rib lath and hexagonal wire netting manufacturer in Malaysia.
